He graduated from the Department of Applied Chemistry of Shenzhen University in 1991, and received his doctor's degree in analytical chemistry from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Hunan University in 2003. He completed his postdoctoral work in Materials Science and Engineering of Hunan University in 2006 and was promoted to professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Hunan University in 2008. From November 2008 to November 2009, he completed his research as a visiting scholar in the Department of Materials, University of Florida. Presided over and completed 1 general project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, participated in and completed a 973 sub-project as a key member, and participated in and completed a key science and technology project of Hunan Province. He has published more than 30 papers and obtained 5 authorized patents. And serving as reviewer of academic journals, Journal of Inorganic Materials, J. Poro. Mat., Cellulose, et al.
Mainly engaged in physics and chemistry of inorganic material teaching and research about novel carbon functional materials research. Experience in the preparation of porous carbon, such as high specific surface area of porous carbon materials carried out with petroleum coke, anthracite, bamboo and phenolic resin as matrix materials; polymer blend carbonization as well as the hard template for porous carbon materials preparation. The main achievement and progress included that the mesoporous carbon materials with uniform pore size distribution prepared by silicon template method, being successfully used in the design and application as the specific carbon zeolites; and a kind of novel carbon aerogels with excellent adsorption properties for methylene blue in aqueous solution have been prepared by sol-gel method, which has potential application in many areas.
